Supporting the journey
to mental wellness, together.

Who We Are

For more than 20 years, Thandanani Centre has been a place of hope, healing, and belonging for adults living with severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression. Founded by the Brothers of Charity, our work is rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, understanding, and the opportunity to live a meaningful life. Mental illness touches every family and community, yet stigma and misunderstanding often leave those affected feeling isolated and forgotten. At Thandanani, we provide structured care, rehabilitation, and a supportive community that empowers individuals to rediscover purpose and stability. By standing with us, whether through volunteering, partnering as a business, or making a donation, you become part of a compassionate movement that restores hope, challenges stigma, and helps create a safe, nurturing environment where healing can truly take place.

What We Do

Thandanani Centre supports adults living with long-term mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression, individuals who often require ongoing care, understanding, and stability. Our residential facility offers a safe and structured environment where residents receive medical supervision, therapeutic support, and consistent daily routines that promote mental wellness and personal growth. Beyond basic care, we believe in nurturing the whole person. Through creative, vocational, and therapeutic workshops, such as arts and crafts, gardening, and life skills development, residents are encouraged to rediscover their abilities, build confidence, and experience a sense of purpose. We also provide specialized psycho-geriatric care for older adults with more complex psychiatric needs, ensuring they receive dignity-focused support tailored to their stage of life.
